What Is Nitreg.com All About?

by nitreg on January 5, 2012

Hey guys! I figured some of you might be new or might not know what is up with this site. I went ahead and made this video to help explain (and ended up making $30 or so :) )

Over the next few months, I am going to be filling in tons of content on my site which will give you the tools to beat the micro stakes online and the small stakes at your local card room! Check out my poker strategy section to find a list of topics covered and links to those topics!

Hey Lindsay thanks so much for checking my site out! I haven’t officially launched my site yet as I’m still adding a few finishing touches, but I hope you enjoy what I have so far :) Look for my site being launched in the upcoming weeks. It’s mostly going to be cash game topics, but I’ll probably have some SNG strategy on here too for people like you. Thanks again and I’ll see you around here and GS! :)

Hello, Nitreg.

You look like a nice guy. I remeber you from the training videos, i had one month subscription to the GrinderSchool.

I am a recreational player at PokerStars for more than a year now, i play (played) mostly 1 table SNGs. I do not play many ring games, in 2012 i have concentrated only to the MTT freerolls (this is the reality at the moment). I do not know (yet) what i want to achive in poker. I guess that my biggest problem is that i play to emotional and also my playing style varies too much.

I wanted to say that i like your website so far and the whole idea, maybe i will sign up (with the different e-mail address), i have many things to learn in poker. I like your writing style and your videos too. I hope that you will not have too much articles or videos titled, for example, “How to exploit a fish” or similar, because this is not nice. I mean, i am not a fish but it would be good if we treat all players with respect, i hope that you understand what i am trying to say.

Personally, i do not see any challenge to beat weak players, since i do not play poker for a living. Somewhere i would also like to see the articles or videos titled, for example “How to beat a poker pro” or “How to outsmart and outplay a bumhunter”. I would really enjoy to take the money from players who make a lot of (too much) money playing poker, especially from the ones who are willing to play only against the very weak opponents .

Most likely that will never happen but a man can dream.

Hey!

I’m really glad you like my blog so far! I’m still working on a few small things before I launch my site, but I’m really happy to receive your feedback as I want my site to be dedicated to people like you. People who want good quality, relevant content for free!

I know I have a bad habit of calling people a fish sometimes, but it isn’t anything negative towards them. It is just my way in a video to describe a player I feel I have an edge against. It would probably be more benefitial for everyone if I started using terms such as “loose/passives” or “fit or fold players” or “nits”, etc as that is less insulting if those players happen to see my videos.

Thanks again for your suggestions and I’ll definitely look to get some content out on the subject of beating regs and other tough players :)

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, relevant content is very important, because some poker books are now really outdated, as you say.

About calling people a fish and willing to play only against them …

I mean that in general, not just for you or just for using such terms, it is about the general attitude to such players. You look like a good guy, i understand that you do not mean anything bad if you sometimes call someone a fish in your video (it is all in the context).

The bad thing is that many players and training sites are these days concentrating mostly on how to play with a fish or against very weak opponents to exploit them. I can understand that too but i think that less and less weak players are playing poker now, because everybody are improving their game. I think that less and less weak players will be playing poker in the future too because they will sooner or later realize that they are just wasting time and money (and that no one respects them).

So, we will probably have to concentrate on a real challenge – how to beat and fight against the better and tough players too.

Yeah that is a good point. Poker is such a dynamic game. It is all about exploiting any villain, not just fish. I agree lots of sites are either talking about how to beat loose/passive players or how to outlevel world class players for $30/month. I think there should be a happy medium so people can realize that both types of players will be at the table so we need skill sets that can exploit both players.

I’ve got a few things on a giant list I had planned, but I threw that post up there along with a couple other ideas I got from your post, so I’ll be doing those over the next week or two. Thanks again for your feedback!

Patrick,
just wanted to point out a couple of minor typos/errors in your “Beat The Micros in 2012″ document.

on page 6 under “Maximize Wins And Minimize Losses” you say
“To be perfectly candid, you will lost a crap load more hands than you will win.”
where it should be “lose”, not “lost”.

on page 7 in the section headed “Hand Charts” you say (in italics)
“maximize wins and minimize profits”
clearly, you mean “losses” not “profits”.

Please don’t think I am a nitpicker or spelling/grammar nazi.
I am very impressed w/ the writing quality your document so far (I have not gotten in deep enough to comment on your poker advice) and just want to make it easy for you in fixing some minor errors for when you send out copies in the future.

I tried to send this as a reply to the email message that delivered the free course info, but it came back as undeliverable.
